TreadleOn is for users and fixer-uppers of human-powered sewing machines, treadle or hand-crank.
We love all antique, vintage, and newer machines; rare or common; smart or tatty; valuable or inexpensive. There is a lot of basic restoration and maintenance information on this web site and shared through the large and active Email List.
A lot of this web site, and of the discussions in the mailing list, covers maintaining, repairing, restoring and, where appropriate, modifying sewing machines. There are TreadleOn social events, too, both in-person, by-post, and online. Although electric sewing machines ("tailed") are technically off topic, they are often mechanically similar and we are not purists about excluding them.
