![]() This quilt was made from Roses and Cream block exchange and had been quilted on a Hobby Quilter which did not look right, I spent 4 days removing that quilting and spent a couple of hours diagonally straight line quilting on my New Home Treadle, now it looks lovely and hard to believe 15 or 16 different people made it. Betty from NZ ![]() ![]() This quilt was paper pieced on a Singer 28k hand crank 1898 and is a Tactile Quilt, various fabrics used including silk, leather, satin and slink skin and so much fun to make. ![]() This is a photo of my first quilt. I completed it last January, 2015. The machine I used was my 1917 Singer 115 with "wings" decals in Drawing Room Cabinet #31. I purchased this last December, just around the time Captain Dick started the QuiltAlong group, this pattern was the first project he posted. The quilt was my first attempt at treadling since school in the 1950s - it was not like riding a bicycle again for me. I remember in school I loved the treadles and could go like the wind - my quilt was pretty much wind-free, but I finished it and aim to do many more. Apparently I have a lot more quilts still to make because Captain Dick has also stated that we are supposed to make a quilt with every vintage machine we own - I have quite a ways to go ... I am currently making a small quilt - QuiltAlong's second project on my New Home Little Worker handcrank. Eileen Vancouver, BC |
